Manual collection of Business Studio Portal logs

To collect logs into a package manually, it is required to copy all the information specified below into a separate directory and compress it into a zip file. All information is collected on the Portal main server unless otherwise has been requested.

Information to be collected:

  1. Portal_<portal_guid> directory. This directory is stored in [My] Documents\Business Studio <version>\Portal server. It needs to be copied under the computer’s user account that has launched Business Studio Portal Server to generate the Portal. Note that if Portal is launched as a service, then this directory must be copied under the user account the service is registered for. In this case, <portal_guid> is a value of the same named field that can be found in the Business Studio Portal Server app on a corresponding tab.
  2. PortalServer.log text file that is stored in the [My] Documents\Business Studio <version>\PortalServer folder.
  3. C:\ProgramData\STU-Soft\BS_WebService\logs folder.
  4. C:\ProgramData\STU-Soft\BS_WebService_MySql\dbdata\<…>.err file.
  5. Sysinfo file. To prepare this file for sending, follow these steps:
    • create a new text file and name it "Sysinfo";
    • launch Business Studio;
    • in the Main Menu, go to the Help tab, click on System Information and copy everything from the opened window;
    • paste the copied information into the created, blank Sysinfo file.
  6. Screenshot of an opened Business Studio Portal Server window with a selected portal tab for which logs are being collected.
  7. If the Distributed Portal Generation is used (see Distributed Portal Generation), the following steps must be followed for each auxiliary server:
    1. Create a separate folder and give it the same name as the current server has.
    2. Repeat the steps 1-6 mentioned above on the current auxiliary server.
