Formulas Used to Calculate Time and Cost Properties of Simulated Processes

Average values of time and cost properties of simulated processes are calculated based on values of the completed instances.

Note that n stands for the number of completed simulated process instances in the formulas below.

Avg duration	Processing time - Processing time of a simulated process instance, Tech wait time - Technological wait time of a simulated process instance, Queue time - Time spent by a simulated process instance in queues, Time of waiting for mat res - Time spent by a simulated process instance waiting for the sufficient amount of simulated material resources. In case parallel branches are found in a diagram, duration of only one branch is included into the process instance duration, and that is the branch with the longest duration.
Avg full time	Processing time - Processing time of a simulated process instance, Tech wait time - Technological wait time of a simulated process instance, Queue time - Time spent by a simulated process instance in queues, Time of waiting for mat res - Time spent by a simulated process instance waiting for the sufficient amount of simulated material resources. The full time includes duration of all branches of a simulated process instance no matter if they are parallel or not. For a task instance, its duration equals its full time.
Avg cost
Cost of a simulated process instance	m - number of simulated task instances of a simulated process instance.
Cost of a simulated task instance	p - number of simulated work resources instances used to perform a simulated task instance, k - number of simulated material resources consumed to perform a simulated task instance, d - number of simulated fixed costs needed to perform a simulated task instance. Note that if you set up the cost of the task in the Cost property (activity Properties Window → Simulation properties tab) and fill out the list of resources on the Resources tab, only cost of resources will be included in the cost of the simulated task instance.
Cost of using instances of simulated work resource	с – number of instances of a simulated work resource used to perform a simulated task instance. As a rule, resources usage time equals the task processing time. But there are some exceptions including, for example, cases when different instances of a simulated work resource were performing a simulated task instance.
Cost of consuming a simulated material resource
Simulated fixed costs	The sum of the simulated fixed cost depends on the simulation period and is divided between simulated task instances where this kind of resource has been used. The fixed costs are allocated proportionally either processing time or cost of simulated task instances.
