Variables Values Analysis

The system provides you with the following possibilities to analyze the change of variable values:

  1. The Simulation Progress window has the Variables tab (see the Variables Tab article);
  2. After the end of the simulation the variable statistics can be viewed from:
    • the Simulation Properties Window: use the Variable statistics hyperlink to open the window where you select the variable, and click on the View details hyperlink (see the Variable statistics hyperlink article);
    • the Material resource statistics window: go to the Variables tab, select a variable and click on the View details hyperlink (see the Variables Tab article);
    • the Product statistics window: go to the Variables tab, select a variable and click on the View details hyperlink (see the Variables Tab article).

See Figure 1 for the Variable statistics window.

It is easy to analyze global variables: you just analyze the change chronology of this variable value. In case the variable is local, you see several chronologies of this variable, each for each variable instance. To get a better view, we recommend to group by the Process instance property using the Group by this column option in the context menu.

To analyze consumption of simulated material resources and production of simulated products, you need to analyze the Quantity system variable.

Detailed analysis of variable instance values is available due to the possibility to transfer the data into a Microsoft Excel file. Use the AdvancedOpen in MS Excel option of the context menu (Figure 2).

Suppose an analyst is studying how values of the "Profit" global variable instance are changing. If he uploads data in the MS Excel file, he gets a possibility to generate a chart that shows a relationship of profit and time or relationship of profit receiving rate and time (Figure 3).
