Design Organizational Structure

The organizational model defines the principles of structuring departments, delegation of authority and responsibility. The organizational model represents how the department is distinguished.

In practice, the following principles are applied:

  • functional model: "one department = one function";
  • process model: "one department = one process";
  • counterparty-oriented model: "one department = one counterparty" (customer or client group, supplier, contractor, etc.).

The latter model applies if the counterparty market is limited. For example, if the number of consumers is severely limited, it is advisable to use a counterparty-oriented model: "one department = one customer".

The most popular models are functional and process models and their modifications.
